Spring Cleaning
03/28/25
With spring already here, I hope you were able to tidy up a bit, store all the winter items, and get all your spring furniture and gear out and ready for the weeks to come. If you’re planning to list your home or just preparing to enjoy this sunnier season, it is the perfect time to let spring’s natural light and air inside your living space.
Opening windows helps ventilate your home. I find it best to open the windows with screens to keep the spring bugs outdoors, however on occasions I like to open my windows that do not have screens to get a full sense of the beautiful outdoor breeze. It is ultimately your choice, but ventilating your home is advisable in order to circulate fresh air into your home. Adding citronella candles or potted lavender near entryways to naturally repel spring bugs from entering your home is a great option. Plus the scents gives your home that spring, calming sensation.
You can even spruce up the feel of your living spaces by rearranging furniture, adding lighter colors like pastels to your room decor. Decluttering while moving furniture, shampooing carpets, and scrubbing behind permanent appliances. This will help provide a lighter and open feel to the room’s atmosphere. Start with one space, you can prioritize the main room, or the smallest room. Then work your way throughout your home and give it that lighter, spring vibe by replacing and updating your room decor. For instance scan pictures, paintings, pillows, rugs, etc, and replace those items that do not match your goal theme. Make sure to add your own touches to add personality and a soothing environment that works for you.
Bring a bit of spring into your home and enjoy this spring season with a little bit of spring cleaning!
